Normally I wouldn´t write a review of a WordPress theme, but the ClassiPress WordPress theme combines certain elements that I think make for great money making potential.
ClassiPress is a blog theme that lets you install a very complete and fully functional classified ads website on a WordPress blog. Your visitors can place ads, upload pictures for the ads, and easily reply to other ads.
Administrators can ad categories, aprove ads or delete pictures. You can even set-up your classifieds site to accept Paypal payments for ads.
The ClassiPress theme installs just like any other WordPress theme.
Why have a classified ads site on a blog?
I am a huge fan of classified ads sites and a huge fan of WordPress blogs. With the ClassiPress theme you get the best of both worlds.
Here are a couple of reasons why I like this combination so much:
- User generated content - My favorite money making type of sites are those in which the user supplies the content. The hardest thing about these types of sites is getting the ball rolling, but after this initial hurdle, user generated content type sites practically run themselves without any additional work.
- Great SEO benefits - One of the best things about WordPress blogs is how much search engines love them. We already all know how much Google likes blogs. I have a few sites that after I moved them to WordPress blogs saw a significant increase in traffic. Due to their very nature, blogs are also link magnets and require that you spend less time getting links.
Why buy the ClassiPress Theme?
While the ClassiPress WordPress Theme is not a free theme, you can buy it for only $69. At this price it is still cheaper than most premium WordPress themes which usally run in price from $79 to $149. The $69 price tag is also cheaper than a good classified ads script, while getting all the added benefits of using the WordPress blog, including access to all the WordPress plugins that let you customize your classified ads site.
Another great thing about the ClassiPress theme, and that will help it pay for itself, is the fact that if you apply the tip to increase Google Adsense revenue that I shared you will be able to get a CTR of almost 30% on your Adsense ads!
One last tip, you might also consider buying a mass emailing script to send out emails to your users, or check out the Ultimate Footer Ad script that can help inscrease your mailing list by allowing visitors to sign-up for your newsletter even if they don´t leave an ad.

sadly classipress has become a bit of a dog since the 3.05 release. There are loads of bugs and their internal forum is full of complaints and to be honest it has become a bit of a farce with no response from the owner of the company. I really love this when i first started using it, but its too unreliable now.. To add to this it seems that theme no longer works on IIS servers- this from one of the designers
My first answer is this:
ClassiPress REQUIRES a linux / apache configuration with "Clean Permalinks" not infopath links to work correctly. To me, you don't meet the system requirements and this is why ClassiPress, and a multitude of wordpress functions, will not work for you.
But I believe I had already told you before to look into the wordpress codex on how to setup your hosted domain to work with Wordpress Permalinks correctly. You can keep trying IIS if you would like, but realize that people are going to keep telling you that its your hosting provider.

As for now we don't encounter any problems with classipress so far. We aren't using the latest version, but we modify the themes so that they can be used in a completely different way. Check out our Cray Discounts on Classipress Childthemes at www.classipro.com
Classipress is a great theme. I have recently implemented it on my free classified ads site http://www.bestnigeria.com. The setup was extremely easy even for a novice like me. I'm yet to fully take the advantage of its SEO functionalities though.
How secure is the Classipress ? and what about the compatibility of other Wordpress plugins?

If you are thinking about getting this script - STOP NOW!
You will only find yourself with a heaping pile of code that will keep you waiting for updates which seldom come. Even when they updates do come they cause as many problems as they fix. This script blows and the company insists on pointing the finger at their customers for their own problems. You may as well throw your money out the window because if you buy this garbage that is what you will be doing.
I have so far been happy with Classipress. It is really easy to manage, even for non-technical people. Not to mentioned their prompt and helpful support
the only version that is stable is 3.04 ( two updates behind the present one) last two update have been a disaster thousands of complaints on their internal forum

I use premiumpress for a number of my websites...they don't perform well, and not extract how I want it to function...and I was looking into ClassiPress. Look like some websites have great success using it..but with a customized ClassiPress version.
